Being an educational advisor means supporting the development of effective and innovative teaching practices to promote student success and engagement.
On a daily basis, you provide advice and support to school teams regarding the implementation, development, and evaluation of curricula, classroom management, and pedagogy. You contribute to the professional development of staff and the continuous improvement of teaching practices, taking into account the realities and needs of the environment.
Responsibilities
The educational advisor in school adaptation – ASD ensures a consulting role and supports the staff of schools working with students with autism spectrum disorder. The educational advisor also plays a role with educational services regarding the implementation, development, and evaluation of curricula for students with autism spectrum disorder.
Specific tasks:
Analyze student cases;
Support and implement measures of flexibility, adaptation, and modification for students with ASD;
Accompany school teams during the development of intervention plans;
Participate in the coordination of professional services around the student;
Model teaching strategies;
Advise and support teachers in implementing adaptations specific to students with ASD;
Support and develop training offerings to assist staff working with students with ASD.
Requirements
Hold a terminal undergraduate degree in a field of specialization appropriate to the position, particularly in special education (or a profile in orthopedagogy);
Have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience (an asset);
Be familiar with different clientele and the various difficulties encountered by students;
Have a good adaptability;
Enjoy working in a team;
Know classroom management strategies;
Proof of success in the French test SEL or CÉFRANC or TECFÉE or the enriched French exam of CSSMB within three months of hiring at the latest.
